I mentioned this earlier in the Light.vn Discord, but I love how pretty and well put together this is! The usage of the single scene from a first character perspective with Amanda's reaction in the textbox is so clever! Since there is such nice depth in the scene, all I feel like is missing is some slight camera movement from the train moving, making use of some parallax effect. The blue and orange is such pretty colors! Music is very pleasing and gave a nice rhythm while reading.
I was very into the story, I managed to get 4 endings I think, my first being the "neutral" ending xD I won't spoil anything but I was getting more curious as the story progressed on what the truth behind these characters are. Especially the male character I'm still a bit unsure of, I would love to play this again once all endings are finished to find out more about the setting~! ^^ I def wanted to go out partying with the devil girl but that might just be me haha
Thanks so much for your kind words and feedback! You're definitely right on the need for some parallax movement. Frustratingly, all the images for it are in the game, I just couldn't get it to look smooth and not jarring or distracting before we ran out of time. It's a priority for the next release, though! Also, really glad you like the devil girl! She was really fun to write, but I never knew if she'd just come off as plain obnoxious to other people.
This is a very clever use of a limited range of assets, which is to say a good design for a jam game. I like the one-letter Quick Menu that expands into a full menu title when hovered, it’s a good way to keep things compact while still giving enough information.
The narration at the beginning could totally use some extra space between the lines (and a different font to match the game). There seems to be some flickering. I don’t get what causes it (maybe you should use cg0 so the image gets faded in from zero alpha instead of 255->0->255?). The characters are lively and expressive. A nice little game with more ending variety than I thought from the setting. Good job!
What an experience! I've been following the game progress on the Light.vn Discord, so it was a treat to see the finished product. I loved the art and the UI. All of the characters were so likeable, the dialogue was so believable, and the framing of the story as hearsay was a nice touch. I got all five available endings—love that the title screen changes!
